    2009 HOF Dinner Recap

    The Point Pleasant Foundation for Excellence
    in Education hosted another highly successful
    Hall of Fame dinner event, raising thousands
    of dollars and drawing some 300 supporters.
    The event, held March 13 at the Crystal Point
    Yacht Club, featured the induction of five
    new members into the Point Pleasant Boro
    High School Hall of Fame. In addition, the
    Foundation awarded a number of recognition
    awards, scholarships and grants.

    The five new members are:

  • Robert “Bob” Dikun, class of 1975 (above,
    giving his acceptance speech)
  • Karen Mulhall (1976)
  • Richard “Rich” Soldo (1985)
  • Jason Nase (1992)
  • Community member Constance “Connie” Maas.

    The Point Pleasant Foundation for Excellence in Education, in
    existence for over 12 years, has donated over $300,000 to the
    Point Pleasant School District in the form of teacher grants,
    student leadership grants, and student scholarships. In addition,
    the Foundation provides funds for new technologies and
    equipment for the Boro school system. Recent examples include
    two mobile computer labs, a weather station, the Project Adventure
    High Ropes course, and a school store operated by multiple disability
    students.
2010 HOF dinner set for March 12

The Point Pleasant Foundation for Excellence in Education will hold its
signature event, the Hall of Fame dinner, on Friday March 12 at the
Crystal Point in Point Pleasant. During the event the following Point
Pleasant Boro High School alumni will be inducted into the school's
Hall of Fame:

  • Nils (Rick) Bergquist, class of 1974
  • Kurt Bergen, class of 1992
  • Kim McCourt, class of 1983
  • Susan Rogers, class of 1985

Community members to be inducted are Tim Ferrie
and Richard Morris.
