Over the weekend of Sept. 26-27 the Point Pleasant Foundation for Excellence in education hosted its 6th annual Treasure Island Sprint Triathlon. This year, nearly 400 athletes (both children and adults) participated, with many bronze, silver and gold medals and other prizes awarded. More importantly, Photo provided courtesy the event generated funds that will of the Ocean Star be distributed to the Point Pleasant Boro school district in the form of new computer and playground equipment, leadership grants and higher-education scholarships to outstanding students. Casino Nite: the latest Foundation success
On Nov. 14, 2009 the Point Pleasant
Foundation for Excellence in Education
hosted a new event --Casino Nite. Held
at the Lobster Shanty in Point Pleasant
Beach, the event attracted more than
100 area residents and raised
approximately $4,000 for the Foundation,
which will be applied to scholarships,
recognition awards and towards the
purchase of new equipment for the Point Pleasant Boro school system.
Casino Nite featured 13 gaming tables offering such games as
blackjack, craps, let it ride, money wheel, Texas hold 'em and roulette. In
addition, the Foundation awarded more than 100 donated prizes.

2010 Triathlon
The Foundation has received numerous
inquiries on the dates for the 2010
Triathlon. The Committee members are
currently working with various parties on
this event, so the actual dates are not yet
determined. We will post the dates here
as soon as these issues are resolved.
